Unlike a lot of my hobbies and projects, the design of the built environment actually pays my mortgage. Having the opportunity to shape the contexts of people’s lives is truly one of the most impactful types of design I get to do. In addition to the actual design work, most projects usually require land entitlements, construction permitting, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
